When and where will my child be covered by this insurance?

The choice is yours. This brochure describes enrollment options designed to fit your individual needs, depending on the coverage selected by the school district. Please review the entire brochure, especially the coverage descriptions, before making your selections.

Q.
What kind of insurance is this?

This is accidental bodily injury insurance. It covers accidental bodily injury occurring while the coverage is in force. Illnesses such as measles, sore throats, etc., are not covered.

Q.
Who should consider buying this insurance?

  1. All families with no health insurance.
    1. If you have no insurance, we will be your primary carrier.
  2. Families with policies having deductibles or co-pays.
    1. Many family health insurance plans contain a deductible or co-pay provision (often 80%-20%).
    2. The larger the deductible or co-pay percentage, the more you may benefit. There is no deductible in our plan.

Q.
Is the price for the voluntary insurance premium a monthly payment price?

No. Our premium prices are a one-time annual payment. The price on the enrollment form is all you have to pay to be covered for the school year.

Q.
If I purchased voluntary coverage, how do I know that my child is insured under the Bollinger Specialty Group plan?

Your proof of coverage is your cashed check or credit card statement. If you purchased coverage online, you will also receive a confirmation page at the conclusion of your purchase.

Q.
When does the coverage for my child begin if I purchase voluntary coverage?

Coverage is available for purchase on the first day of school and does not cover school activities prior to opening day of classes.

If purchasing coverage online, the effective date of your child's policy will be 12:01 a.m. following the submission of your application and premium.

If mailing the application and premium directly to Bollinger Specialty Group, coverage is effective the date of receipt in our office.

Do you offer a discount if I am buying insurance for more than one child?

No. We do not offer any discounts for multiple children.

Q.
Can I send in one check if I am buying coverage for more than one child?

Yes. You can pay on one check for more than one child. Make sure that we also receive the completed enrollment forms for all children along with the check payment.

Q.
Do you offer refunds for any reason such as my child is leaving the district, or if I bought Football coverage and my child didn't make the team, etc.?

Bollinger Specialty Group cannot offer refunds for our plan because it is an annual term policy and we would have covered the child during the time that they were participating in activities at the school. Coverage will remain in force even if the child transfers to another district.

When and how can I enroll?

ENROLL ANYTIME! It is to your advantage to enroll early. The premium cannot be prorated. Make check payable to: Bollinger Specialty Group and submit along with the completed enrollment form.

Q. Will I receive an ID card for my child?

ID cards and Master Policies are not issued to each child. Save your cancelled check or confirmation page as proof of purchase. A generic ID card can be found in the brochure available on the BollingerSchools.com website.

If my child switches school districts and their new school district doesn't use Bollinger Specialty Group's insurance program, can I still purchase coverage?

No. However, if your new school district doesn't currently use our coverage, they certainly can work with us in the future.

Q.
Does the student accident plan cover accidents only when my child is at school or is there coverage when they are at home?

If the 24 Hour Plan is chosen, the child is covered anytime the school policy is not in effect - while at home, evenings, weekends, holidays and during summer vacation.

Q.
Where can I get a claim form for my child's accident?

Claim forms are available to download from our website www.BollingerSchools.com. If the accident occurred during a school time activity, a school official may need to complete part of the form.
